Since I’m not a Florida local, I’m constantly on the lookout for Disney magic closer to home. It seems as if the powers that be heard my cries because, back in September, the exhibit “Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic” opened at the Museum of Fine Arts right in Boston. This past week, I finally made it over, and it was just as adorable and magical as you’d imagine.
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is something that my family has only just recently started to get into. I have heard about it before, but never really looked into it. I honestly thought it was just another thing that Disney wanted us to fork money over to, because a Disney vacation isn’t expensive enough, right? Well, I was very wrong! Turns out, this is a FREE activity. Not only is it free, but its acttualy a lot of fun! My 4-year-old son (and 27-year-old husband) had a blast running around Magic Kingdom on our last trip playing this game. In this article, I will explain what it is, how it works, and why I think you should do this on your next Disney trip!
What makes a great ride? Despite the fact that we all have different favorites and different criteria for determining those favorites, I believe that there are a few overlapping characteristics that most people look for in a great ride. And I think the PeopleMover checks off all of those boxes.
Many of us are Disney fanatics. Chances are, if you’re reading this post, you are one of them. In my case, I became a huge Disney fan at a young age when I started traveling to Walt Disney World with family. My husband, Doug, has the same story. Sometimes, Disney fanatics find each other and become an item. This process can tend to create Disney couples and the question I want to answer today is how Doug and I became one of them!
RunDisney is the perfect event for anyone wanting to try their hand at running a road race. I am going to give you my honest review of my second RunDisney event. Stick around and check out my video to get a better look at what race weekend really looks like.
Hi, my name is Nicole…. and I am OBSESSED with Mickey-shaped food. (“Hi Nicole”). If you feel like you are having deja vu, you’re not. I started one of my other blog posts almost exactly like this. And, that post was all about Mickey waffles and how to make them. If you would like to read that, click here! Anyway, if you couldn’t tell by now, I like my food and I liked it Mickey shaped. If you don’t believe me, look at the photo below!
As a family of four, we all have our own (very strong) opinions about our favorite place, so it seems only fitting that I share the spotlight a bit with the Rad Girls who make up three quarters of the Rad Fam. What follows is Rad Ella’s comprehensive guide to Walt Disney World, with some of my own clarifications sprinkled in for continuity and irreverence.
It sounds weird to say that going to Disney can be hard, but hear me out. One of the hardest parts about going to a Disney destination is the time period between booking your vacation and actually getting there. It’s the biggest tease that builds up the most anticipation. I would argue the second hardest part is just straight leaving Disney (am I right?). Today we will talk about some Disney coping mechanisms to hold you off until you walk through those magical, sparkling gates at your next Disney destination.
There are lots of changes coming to Walt Disney World over the next few years ahead of the 50th anniversary celebration in 2021. If you are anything like me you have been watching and reading a lot about the coming changes and all the construction. Truth be told I’m getting a little nervous. What exactly are the themes of the new resorts?
“Be Our Guest! Be our guest! Put our service to the test!” Sorry. I just had to. I figured I would get the singing out of the way right at the beginning just to put you out of your misery. But, be honest, you sang along too… I know you did.
Anyway, I bet you already guessed what my article is about today — Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom! I am going to break this article down into two sections. The first section is going to be facts, tips, and tricks. For the second part, I am going to hand it over to a true Disney expert, my four-year-old son, Andy. This kid has been hooked on Disney since the womb. I mean, the kid’s name is Andy (named after Toy Story), so he kind of has to be a Disney Kid. Just to forewarn you, he is crazy, and I have no idea what he is going to say. Everything will be his own words. You have been warned…
On Episode 136 of the ZADD Crew Podcast you heard Producer Greg suggest that Hollywood Brown Derby face the chopping block in a game of Keep, Cancel, Replace against the 50’s Prime Time Cafe and the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. He claimed its theme is reminiscent of an older Hollywood Studios – and I agree, but I don’t think that’s any reason for it to go. Let me try to convince you…
OK, here it is. The big one. The list that will surely ruffle some feathers, rub some people the wrong way, and other such oddly tangible idioms. For CJ’s sake I’ll go ahead and say that the opinions expressed within are solely those of Rad Disney Dad and do not reflect the opinions of the ZADD Crew — unless of course you agree with me, in which case these absolutely are the opinions of the ZADD Crew. Let’s dive in, shall we?
“This is Halloween. This is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween.” Halloween is tomorrow and while I am so sad to see this season go, I am even more ecstatic about ushering in the Christmas season. I have mentioned this before — we don’t live super close to any Disney parks, but we still make sure to incorporate Disney into our Halloween time. Today, I want to tell you how we like to have a Disney Halloween, and how you can, too!
It is seemingly endless summer here in Florida. This means That as you embrace fall and bundle up, we are still basking in the sun and perfecting our belly flops. Remember, Disney is a great escape from the cold weather!
We were able to visit this pool at the beginning of September 2018, just before it closed for refurbishment. This moderate resort may be the perfect mix of amenities and affordable price. This resort and pool area is a new Drennon family favorite. The feature pool has an amazing Mayan Pyramid water feature and fun water slide.
Buying tickets to Walt Disney World can sometimes be a confusing (and not to mention expensive) endeavor. When purchasing, you will encounter lots of different ticket options, with one of the options being the Park Hopper add-on. What is it? Is it worth it? What are the benefits to it? Well, in this article, I hope to answer all of those questions and help you figure out if purchasing Park Hopper is right for you.
As a family of four, we all have our own (very strong) opinions about our favorite place, so it seems only fitting that I share the spotlight a bit with the Rad Girls who make up three quarters of the Rad Fam. What follows is Rad Hallie’s comprehensive guide to Walt Disney World, with some of my own clarifications sprinkled in for continuity and irreverence.
Just because I love Disney, it doesn’t mean I love every attraction, show, or treat Disney has to offer. My skip list is about those park attractions I’d pass up and what I’d much rather do instead. When it comes to It’s Tough to be a Bug, I’d rather do anything else. Anything. Including sitting and counting back from 7000 by 14s.
I think I may have mentioned this before — we love Disney with our kids. However, we also love to escape for a date night, if possible. A monorail crawl is a quick getaway where we can enjoy some of the Disney spots geared towards adults. You may also know that I am mildly obsessed with Disney resorts and what they have to offer.
Our favorite Disney movies would be nothing without their soundtracks. What would we badly sing while cleaning the house? What rockin’ jams would fill our cars during road trips? What few pinging notes would reduce us to sobs? Ok, sure, there’s plenty of fantastic non-Disney music out in the world that could fulfill each of these roles, but Disney songs are GREAT! Making this list was a challenge because I don’t want to pick all of the “obvious” songs. Also, my list is constantly changing. Honestly, by the time this post goes live, I might disagree with myself. Since my caveats are covered, let’s get on with it!
Have you ever had LeFou’s Brew at Magic Kingdom before? If not, let me try to explain it to you really quickly. The best way that I can describe it is… amazing!! It’s a slushy, cold apple drink that is mixed with a hint of marshmallow and topped with a fruity whipped cream (I know it sounds like a lot is going on, but trust me, it works)! This deliciously refreshing drink, which can be found at Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland, is inspired by one of my favorite movies, Beauty and The Beast. Now you can make your own LeFou’s Brew at home with this super simple recipe! And I mean really, it’s super simple!
