I am EXTREMELY pleased and excited to announce that — drum roll please — the ZADD Crew Blog has a WDW Trip Calculator!!! Yayyyyy!!!! What is a Disney trip calculator?? Well, I am so glad you asked! This little tool will help make the process of planning a Disney vacation sooo much easier!! Here at the ZADD Crew Blog, that’s something that we all really want to do — help make your Disney vacation easier to plan and more enjoyable!
Being a mom of a preschooler is probably the most fun things ever! Don’t get me wrong, it can be hard sometimes. But the good outweighs the bad by about 1000 times. And honestly, taking a preschooler to Disney World might be the best thing ever! This age is so fun and so magical! So, imagine how much more fun and even more magical it can be while at Disney World! Hopefully, with this article, I can make you stop what you are doing and book a Disney vacation with your preschooler right away!
Disney World is magical, exciting, happy, fun, wonderful, and so many other positive feelings rolled into one. For many, it’s what people call “Home.” But, Disney World can also be overwhelming, hectic, and a little crazy — especially when you have kids. Taking a break is always something I advise people to do when they are on their Disney vacation. For some people, that is very hard to do because in their minds, they are thinking, “I spend all of my hard earned money on this vacation. I am not going to spend it doing nothing.” And believe me, I get it, but I feel that if you don’t take a break in the middle of your trip, you and your family might end up feeling run down and tired, and then that’s a waste too. You need a break from the heat, crowds, and all of that walking around. You don’t need to take a full day off. Maybe an afternoon one day is just what your family needs. Either way, a break is needed. Here are some ideas that you can do on your “rest day.”
PhotoPass is a wonderful service that Disney World has that helps families keep their magical memories for a lifetime. It is pretty simple: you find a PhotoPass photographer in the parks, ask them to take your photo, scan your MagicBand or card, and then, like magic, those photos show up on your My Disney Experience App. It looks like some changes might be in the works though.
Disney is rumored to be getting ready to introduce automated cameras instead of cast members taking your photos. These cameras seem like they would be along the lines of the automatic cameras that they already have in some rides taking your picture. Now, they will have these automatic cameras instead of PhotoPass photographers at select character meet-and-greet locations. An automated camera will be positioned in the room to take photos of your interaction with the characters. These automatic cameras are rumored to debut late November, and could already be in the test process at Town Square Theater and Adventurers Outpost.
My Feelings on this-
No Disney! Don’t do this! We love purchasing Memory Maker because of the awesome photos that we get from the PhotoPass photographers (all the photos in this article are from PhotoPass photographers)! If Disney does this, I feel like we will not be getting those magical photos that we all love. How is a machine supposed to catch those heart melting photos of a child meeting his or her favorite character for the first time? Normally, I am all for the changes that Disney makes, but this is one I am not looking forward to.
What do you think? Let me know if you feel the same way as me, or have a different thought about it in the comments down below.
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is something that my family has only just recently started to get into. I have heard about it before, but never really looked into it. I honestly thought it was just another thing that Disney wanted us to fork money over to, because a Disney vacation isn’t expensive enough, right? Well, I was very wrong! Turns out, this is a FREE activity. Not only is it free, but its acttualy a lot of fun! My 4-year-old son (and 27-year-old husband) had a blast running around Magic Kingdom on our last trip playing this game. In this article, I will explain what it is, how it works, and why I think you should do this on your next Disney trip!
Hi, my name is Nicole…. and I am OBSESSED with Mickey-shaped food. (“Hi Nicole”). If you feel like you are having deja vu, you’re not. I started one of my other blog posts almost exactly like this. And, that post was all about Mickey waffles and how to make them. If you would like to read that, click here! Anyway, if you couldn’t tell by now, I like my food and I liked it Mickey shaped. If you don’t believe me, look at the photo below!
“Be Our Guest! Be our guest! Put our service to the test!” Sorry. I just had to. I figured I would get the singing out of the way right at the beginning just to put you out of your misery. But, be honest, you sang along too… I know you did.
Anyway, I bet you already guessed what my article is about today — Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom! I am going to break this article down into two sections. The first section is going to be facts, tips, and tricks. For the second part, I am going to hand it over to a true Disney expert, my four-year-old son, Andy. This kid has been hooked on Disney since the womb. I mean, the kid’s name is Andy (named after Toy Story), so he kind of has to be a Disney Kid. Just to forewarn you, he is crazy, and I have no idea what he is going to say. Everything will be his own words. You have been warned…
Buying tickets to Walt Disney World can sometimes be a confusing (and not to mention expensive) endeavor. When purchasing, you will encounter lots of different ticket options, with one of the options being the Park Hopper add-on. What is it? Is it worth it? What are the benefits to it? Well, in this article, I hope to answer all of those questions and help you figure out if purchasing Park Hopper is right for you.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Even though Halloween is still about a week away, Christmas is already around the corner and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom November 8! Every Halloween and Christmas Party, Disney offers a special Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card just for party guests. This year, guest attending the Christmas party can pick up a special game card inspired by Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room on party nights. You can pick up your free card at the Fire House on Main Street.
Players of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom travel around Magic Kingdom to help Merlin stop various Disney Villains who want to take over the park. Disney Imagineer, Jonathan Ackley, tells us the Tiki Room Card came from Merlin himself when he heard the singing birds! Jonathan warns, “The Disney Villains will need to watch out, or they’ll end up with egg on their faces!”
Thank you to Disney for the use of their photo
For those who have used the Play Disney App while at Disney, you know how much fun it can be! It offers fun games, great music, challenging trivia, cute art, and more! Well now, Disney has added two new expansions to this amazing app!
First off, is an interactive experience at the Art of Animation Resort. This is the first time the Play Disney App has left the Disney parks and ventured into the Disney Resorts. Imagine bringing the art-filled walls of this colorful lobby to life! Through the app, you will become an animator that creates art inspired by “Finding Nemo,” “The Lion King,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Cars.” This sounds extremely fun, and something that I can’t wait to try!
The next part of the expansion heads over to Animal Kingdom into the beautiful land of Pandora. Now, you and your family will be able to join Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) on an adventure as you explore the sites of Pandora. What sounds like most fun to me is that you will have the ability to scan your surroundings with your phone camera to find for exotic lifeforms! You will also be able to create music and experience other interactive game. This expansion will be great when waiting in the (very loooonnngg) line at the very popular Avatar Flight of Passage attraction.

Thanks to Disney and @magicalshannonmarie for the use of their photos.
Have you ever had LeFou’s Brew at Magic Kingdom before? If not, let me try to explain it to you really quickly. The best way that I can describe it is… amazing!! It’s a slushy, cold apple drink that is mixed with a hint of marshmallow and topped with a fruity whipped cream (I know it sounds like a lot is going on, but trust me, it works)! This deliciously refreshing drink, which can be found at Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland, is inspired by one of my favorite movies, Beauty and The Beast. Now you can make your own LeFou’s Brew at home with this super simple recipe! And I mean really, it’s super simple!
GUYS…. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?!?
Disney just released a teaser trailer for the live action Aladdin film and I’m so obsessively excited about it! In this trailer, we get a glimpse of Jafar, Iago, the Cave of Wonders, and our hero, Aladdin. While the trailer is less than a minute and a half long, it’s caused quite a bit of excitement!
The movie will hit theaters May 24, 2019. I know I will be there opening day; will you?? Watch the new trailer down below and let me know your thoughts in the comments!
A special thanks to Disney for the use of their image for the featured photo.
What do you do when you want to be in the middle of the Disney magic 24/7, but unfortunately have to be an adult and work and live 1,249 miles from Magic Kingdom?! You go to a Disney Store, of course! Fortunately for us, our local mall opened a Disney Store 4 years ago. And every time I need a little magic in my life, we hop in the car and head there. But did you know that the Disney Store, just like Disney World, has an opening ceremony every day to open the store?!? It seriously is the cutest thing ever! In this article, I will tell you about the two different experiences that we had. The first, at a Disney Store, and the second at a Disney Store outlet.
I have been to Disney World more times then I can count, but every trip, there is always something new for me to try, whether its something brand spanking new to Disney, or just something I just never got around to doing before! That’s what’s so great about Disney! No matter how many times you go, there is always something new to do. And Pin Trading is something that I have just recently started doing! I still consider myself a pin trading newbie. It actually all started with my son. We bought him his first Disney pin last year (it was a Kion pin from The Lion Guard), and he was in love. From there, he was hooked! We are still learning the ins and outs of this whole pin trading business, but hopefully, this article will help you get a head start in this fun activity!
My family and I recently got back from a Disney World trip. It was one of the best Disney trips we have ever had! It rained a lot, but that didn’t stop the magic for us! One of the highlights of our trip was staying in this super cute resort — Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. To be honest, we picked this resort because it was the cheapest resort for the week that we wanted to go. We didn’t pick it because we are music lovers; we picked it because of the price. But, we were very pleasantly surprised with what we got! In this article, I will try to show you why you should stay here on your next Disney trip.
For kids with food allergies, Halloween can be a scary time (and I don’t mean the decorations). You never know where your allergen can be lurking. But, trick-or-treating at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is, as it says in its name, really not so scary! Disney World participates in something called the Teal Pumpkin Project. If you are unfamiliar with that, it’s when families put a Teal Pumpkin (teal is the color of allergy awareness) out on their porch to let other families know that they either have allergy-friendly candy/snacks or nonfood treats such as stickers. Disney implements this so well that kids (or kids at heart, because anyone of any age can trick or treat at Disney) never feel left out or afraid!
When this article goes live, guess where I will be! Anyone?! Huge shock, but I will be in Disney World!! I bet you all never saw that one coming, did you? S,o to be completely honest, this article is going to be shorter than my usual ones because, well, I’m in full-on Disney packing mode as I type this. So, bear with me! Anyway, this article will be all about how I get into the Disney Spirit in between trips!
To stay on site or not to stay on site? That really is the question, isn’t it? I know lots of people are always debating whether or not to stay at one of Disney’s many resorts. It can be a tough choice. Hopefully, this article will help you make that decision.
Good news to all of those (like my son) that have food allergies! Disney now has their allergy menus right on the app! This is great for the allergy community because now it allows us to look at the menus and preplan our meals! From the looks of it, it seems like the allergy friendly menus are at select Quick Service locations only. But, hey! That’s still better than nothing. Of course, Disney still suggests you consult a Chef or Special Diets Cast Member before placing your order and that you should still use your discretion while ordering, but I really do appreciate Disney trying it’s best for those who have food allergies! Thanks, Disney!
