Ever think about renting a cabana by the pool? Jealous of the limitless shade? Me, too.
So, we decided to be fancy and give it a try. This trip consisted of 6 adults with no children.
There are three cabanas located next to the Oasis pool (quiet pool) at the Polynesian resort.
Important details about renting the cabana: you need to be staying at that resort, the cabana can be rented for a half day (approximately $53 from 10am-2pm / 3pm-7pm) or a full day ($75 for 10am-7pm), and the cost does not include any extras. Each cabana is equipped with seating for 6 adults (the stated limit) and a coffee table. It is a solid covered structure with a ceiling fan.
Pros: if you are planning on spending a day at the pool, I urge you to consider this option. Decent shade for the whole family can be hard to come by at some of the resort pools. We were able to bring snacks and even some adult beverages to the pool in our cooler. The shade was amazing, and the seats were comfortable. We were able to come and go between the quiet pool and feature pool without having to move all of our things. A server also came by to take drink orders when we needed.
Cons: It is an additional cost. No extras come with this purchase… not even a bottle of water. If you have kids, they may want to spend more time at the splash pad or water slide.
Final thoughts on renting the poolside cabana? Everyone in our group felt it was money well spent. We loved chilling out by the pool and not getting burnt. The Florida sun can really be brutal, and this was a great way to enjoy the great weather, pool, and great friends.
