History was not my jam in school. If you’re anything like me (but not entirely like me, because I don’t
think the world is ready for two of us), you’ll be exited to hear there is a way to redeem yourself.
There is a very quick and very free way to achieve the Disney Historian status at Disney’s Hollywood
Studios. The quest starts at the entrance of the “Walt Disney Presents” attraction. There, you can inform
a cast member that you’d like to become a Disney Historian. He or she will provide you with a short
questionnaire. Quick side note: when we tried, they had run out of the paper versions and we were able
to perform a verbal test (one question!).
Your task is to answer the questions either from memory or by using the info within the attraction. In
our experience, the order of the questions matches the timeline of the attraction, so you won’t be
running back and forth. Once you’ve written down your answers, you’re ready to submit.
Find the cast member at the end of the attraction, just outside the theatre doors. Once he or she
reviews and accepts your responses, it’s time to be inducted. You will sign your name in the big book of
former participants. You will receive a shiny certificate, indicating your new status, and, maybe most
importantly for me, you will rest easy knowing you’ve done something new in Disney World that was fun
I’ve added “Disney Historian” to my resume and it’s had exactly zero impact on my professional life.
